Get your mind and attitude in check

Transcript:

As with anything in life, we need to set our intentions in the right direction and make sure we have the foundations well set. When it comes to lifestyles, this direction comes from our attitude which will guide us whenever life interferes with our focus. Having a foundation that is in alignment with our career goals and private life, and building habits on top of this base, keeps us stable. You can, and should, keep on fine-tuning and customizing your life to fit your job and values. How can you do this, you ask? Don’t worry, you will learn the tools throughout this course.

The reason we all still have fears related to adapting to working from home is because culturally and personally we haven’t yet learned the tools and norms that would help us transition from the get-go. The good news is that this is easy to fix, and it will not depend on your personality type or any other factor, only your invested effort. The rewards you get from sticking with it are, among many: a feeling of having control over your life, devoting your energy to your work as well as your passions and your private time. Put in the work and you’ll be all set for the digital lifestyle of our present and ready for the future!

The three pillars of having the right attitude and maintaining a work-life balance are first and foremost an attitude of self-care, which will influence the second pillar, your schedule, and the component X, which is the key to achieving your goal, is discipline. Now we will take a look at these three foundations and do a few exercises as well. Let’s start with self-care.
